Meet the Baker Behind Freedom Bakes
Freedom Bakes is the creation of Tanya, a dedicated wife, mom of three, and former desk job worker who wanted to tap into her creative side while being more present for her family. After over two years at a traditional 9-to-5 job, she decided it was time for a change. One day, she started baking cookies and realized she had discovered something truly special.
“I started an Instagram account for my business and showed the community the cookies I was baking. After just three weeks, I was able to quit my 9-to-5 and branch out on my own as a small business owner and baker,” she shares.
Since then, her journey has been filled with delicious treats, community connections, and unforgettable milestones.
Havasu Lux Stays & Freedom Bakes
The connection between Freedom Bakes and Havasu Lux Stays was seamless. Tanya attended a women-in-business fundraising event held at Vista Lago, one of the properties managed by Matt and Lisa Hunter. She brought some of her signature cookies to share at the event and the rest was history.
“Matt grabbed one of my cookies and had a surprised look on his face, like he was impressed by how tasty it was. I introduced myself as the baker, and a friend mentioned that I sometimes deliver cookies to vacation rentals for check-ins,” she recalls. “Before I knew it, Matt and Lisa were asking for my card.”
Now, Freedom Bakes delivers fresh cookies to all Havasu Lux Stays properties for every guest check-in.
Sweet Success and Favorite Projects
The baker’s love for baking shines through in everything she does. Participating in local events and farmers' markets brings her joy, as regular customers come specifically for her baked goods.
“I’ve done some pretty large orders, including a big contracting company that recently ordered 250 bags of my homemade pancake mix for Christmas gifts,” she says. “I also love fulfilling orders for birthdays, weddings, and baby showers—it’s special to be part of those milestones.”
